The Drug Extension Support Group is a community driven group established by SNOMED International to provide support to implementers of a SNOMED CT drug extension.
Objectives
The main objectives of this group are:
- To provide implementers of the SNOMED CT drug extension model with a forum through which they can share their real world experiences, challenges and questions, with other stakeholders and SNOMED International.
- To provide SNOMED International with a forum through which we can better understand how to assist implementers of the SNOMED CT drug extension model.
Goals
The primary goals of this group is:
- To enable the successful implementation of national SNOMED CT drug extensions, that meet the requirements of both national use and cross-border data sharing.
- To enable the successful interoperability between national SNOMED CT drug extensions and other pharmacy standards required for national or cross-border data sharing.
Membership
This group is open to any Member of the SNOMED CT community who is either:
- Actively implementing the SNOMED CT drug extension model,
- Is planning to implement the SNOMED CT drug extension model, or
- Has already implemented a SNOMED CT drug extension.
Meetings
Meetings will initially be held every two weeks. However, the frequency of meetings may be adjusted to meet the needs of the group.
The first meeting will be held on Thursday 29th October 2020 at 11:00 UTC.
Chairs
The group will initially be co-chaired by Linda Bird (SNOMED International) and Julie James (UK).
Members of the community directly involved with implementing a SNOMED CT drug extension are encouraged to get involved in the organisation and direction of this group.
