The Drug Extension Implementation Support Group is a community driven group established by SNOMED International to provide support to organizations implementing the SNOMED CT drug extension model.

Purpose

The purpose of this group is to provide a forum in which implementers of the SNOMED CT drug extension model can share their real world experiences, challenges and questions with other implementers and SNOMED International.

Goals

The primary goal of this group is:

  • To enable the successful implementation of national SNOMED CT drug extension models, that meet the requirements of both national use and cross-border data sharing.

Membership

This group is open to any Member of the SNOMED CT community who is actively implementing the SNOMED CT drug extension model, has already implemented the SNOMED CT drug extension model, or is making plans to implement the SNOMED CT drug extension model.

The Drug Extension Implementation Support Group will initially be co-chaired by Linda Bird (SNOMED International) and Julie James (UK).

The first meeting will be held on Thursday 29th October 2020 at 11:00 UTC.


  • Group Name: Drug Model Implementation DMI? Drug model Implementation Reference Group DIRG or DIG, 'SNOMED on Drugs'
  • Group Objectives:
    • This group provides a forum to enable countries to bring in their experiences on implementing the SNOMED CT Drug model, but also to ask questions and promote discussions.

    • The role of SI in this group is to facilitate group meetings, listen to the questions and presentations, and become aware of Drug model implementation issues, which can help us inform future decisions
