  1. Peter G. Williams , please update template language.

    Thank you

  2. The finding site is too restrictive.  There are amputations of other structures, such as "ear" , "Penis" etc whether traumatic or surgical.  Maybe extend this to AFTER Traumatic amputation?

  3. Jim, I realize that but at this time all of the Amputated X (finding) concepts are related to the upper or lower limb structures.

If extended to AFTER Traumatic amputation, how would this be pragmatically different than just saying Traumatic amputation of X (disorder)?  We already have Traumatic amputation of X under 262595009 |Traumatic amputation (disorder)|.  As the concepts I am addressing in this templates are just findings and do not specify a mechanism for the amputation (e.g. 299657000 |Amputated toe (finding)|), I think it best to leave as is but I can extend the finding site to include any body structure.  Traumatic amputation of X  would require a separate template.

  4. The "finding" of amputated structure may be the result of either an amputation procedure or trauma, so I am concerned that this template assumes a surgical procedure.  I agree that traumatic amputation requires a different template as it has been modeled in the past as an  open wound (i.e., presentation at time of diagnosis).  So the question is whether we need the AFTER relationship at all since we have the adequate morphology to express the absence in "Amputated structure"?

  5. "As the concepts I am addressing in this templates are just findings and do not specify a mechanism for the amputation"

Sorry, I forgot to remove the after relationship

    Done now.

  6. Bruce Goldberg , looks good.  Short and sweet
