At the Montevideo meeting last year an initial discussion on the value of concepts. The current distribution of content is:
situation 257
procedure 23
finding 13
disorder 13
physical object 6
qualifier value 4
observable entity 2
assessment scale 1
specimen 1
record artifact 1
regime/therapy 1
in light of the decision to allow content with laterality into the international release, is there still any value in retaining these concepts with the knowledge of the issues related to them currently?
Following the Wellington meeting, it was decided that with the addition of lateralized content in the international release, the need for unspecified unilateral concepts is obviated, as well as potentially dangerous if used directly in a patient record. A Member Forum brief describing the intention to retire these concepts will be developed.
