  1. Bruce Goldberg Sarah Warren Hi Bruce just noticed the synonyms on this new Template.

Copied Sarah in as I am handing over the Dentistry CRG author liaison work shortly (Sarah is a qualified dentist). Wondering about the relationship of this concept to 444818007 |Partial edentulism (disorder)| with finding site 245543004 |Dentition (body structure)|. Also 441935006 |Acquired absence of all teeth (disorder)| synonym Complete edentulism has finding site 728315009 |Entire dentition (body structure)|.

  2. Hi Nicola Ingram. This template was originally just for complete edentulism but the number of descendants was only 19 so I went up one level to Acquired absence of teeth. The finding site of Tooth structure subsumes dentition and entire dentition as well as other tooth structures. Of course the author would need to know which finding site is applicable for subtypes of Acquired absence of teeth (disorder). Partial endentulism is primitive as I assume Dentition means all or some teeth.

  3. Agree - dentition can refer to a full upper and lower set of teeth or the remaining teeth after some have been lost.

  4. Thanks Sarah Warren

Bruce Goldberg Should we remove the synonym here based on this being a higher level than the Complete/Partial concepts?

  5. Yes, these synonyms should just apply to the appropriate subtypes.
