1. Riveting keynote speaker: This year, keynote speaker Dr. Ben Goldacre, an internationally renowned author and physician, will unpack the misuse of science and statistics by journalists, politicians, quacks, drug companies and more. You can expect to be both entertained and informed, and that’s a winning combination.

2. Global expertise: During the James Read Memorial Panel, an esteemed group of global experts, including Dr. Charles Gutteridge (UK), Dr. Christian Reich (US), Dr. Jeremy Theal (CAN), and Dr. Ngai Tseung Cheung (HK), will share their successes using SNOMED CT while offering their care delivery and research insights on the role SNOMED CT will play in supporting the future of medicine.

3. No cost to you: This year’s Expo is free to attend!

4. Participate from the comfort of your own home: Business casual no more! Wear whatever you like!

5. A cornucopia of sessions to choose from: In addition to topnotch keynote speakers and panelists, we’re offering 45 concurrent sessions, 4 tutorials and 20 e-Posters. 6. Something for everyone: Are you a clinician? Don’t miss the stream of sessions focused on enhancing clinical practice and improving patient outcomes.

7. Opportunities for practical application: See SNOMED CT in action and get hands-on experience at the education workshops and tutorials.

8. Learn about leading practices: Implementers from a range of private and public organizations will share their lessons learned.

August 11, 2020, London, United Kingdom and Geneva, Switzerland -- SNOMED International and the International Council of Nurses (ICN) have joined forces in an agreement that will pave the way for the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP) to be managed, produced, released and distributed by SNOMED International.

This agreement, which is the culmination of years of collaboration between the two organizations, will see ICN retain ownership of ICNP and continue to define its content so that it meets the needs of the global nursing profession. The agreement aligns with increasing global health digitization, the widespread use of SNOMED CT-enabled electronic health records (EHR), and the documentation of ICNP-specific content by nurses around the world.

A significant benefit of this agreement removes the need for countries that currently use both ICNP and SNOMED CT to engage in mapping activities between the two systems, which is an effort that was previously required.
