SNOMED International Content Team is pleased to now distribute the Universal Summary of all feedback received, and the results of our consultation on the inactivation of role groupers in the Substance and Medicinal Product hierarchies including resolution and next steps.
Many thanks to those of you who provided contributions to this consultation that has successfully collected a high volume of comprehensive and valuable international feedback from many sources (see this collation document for list).

The April 2024 concept inactivation report link has been added to the International Edition Concept Inactivation Reports page. Please note, the number of inactivations is larger than usual given work undertaken on male/female breast content as well as radiographic imaging. Please see 2024 Early Visibility Release Notifications for further information on these areas of work.

As mentioned at the October meeting we are looking to hold CMAG meetings 4 times a year. Our first meeting for 2024 will be Wednesday 24 January at 1200 UTC. The draft agenda (with dial in details) is located: 2024-01-24 - CMAG Meeting. CMAG members are asked to prepare for the meeting, in particular for the following two topics:
- National content work - Please be ready with an update upcoming national content activities and advice on past work which may be of interest to other CMAG members.

- Role grouping policy for observables
- The purpose of this briefing note is to inform the Member Forum, Editorial Advisory Group, Content Managers Advisory Group, and Clinical Leads Group of the plan to change the role grouping policy for observables.
- Comments on this plan should be submitted to Yongsheng Gao (yga@snomed.org) or info@snomed.org by 29 Feb 2024.
- Inactivation of the Navigational Concept hierarchy
- The purpose of this briefing note is to inform the SNOMED International Community of Practice and select Advisory Groups and Project Groups of the intention to inactivate the Navigational concept hierarchy (<<363743006 |Navigational concept (navigational concept)|) which consists of 634 concepts that have been placed in this hierarchy due to their inability to be defined or to present a universally understood meaning, thus violating the Understandability, Reproducibility, and Useability standards for SNOMED CT.
- Comments on this plan may be submitted to info@snomed.org
