National editions, which are used in member countries and regions, are widely used forms of an edition. Several of SNOMED International's Member countries have published national editions. The extensions produced by these Members depend on the International Edition because the modules in these extensions ultimately depend on modules in the International edition. lists examples of Member countries who have published national editions of SNOMED CT. Note that the International Edition has been translated to Spanish but this is not considered a national edition.

US Edition

shows the composition of the US Edition, 20170901 based on its modules and their dependencies.

The International Edition is shown with its modules on top in yellow and the US Extension is shown with its modules on the bottom in blue. The grey arrows represent the individual module dependencies specified in the module dependency reference set included as part of the US Edition. Recall that module dependencies are date specific such that a versioned source module is dependent on versioned target module. These dates have not been shown at the module level in the diagram but the dates are consistent with the dates of the International Edition, 20170731 and the US Extension, 20170901. Also note that the | SNOMED CT to ICD-10 rule-based mapping module|  is not part of this edition. Lastly, the module names have been simplified in this diagram for the purpose of brevity.

Essentially, this diagram illustrates is that the US Edition, 20170901 is comprised of the four versioned modules shown in the diagram. Two of these modules form part of the US Extension, 20170901 and two are part of the International Edition, 20170731, which of course was published earlier.  lists the focus module and URI for the US Edition, 20170901

Australian Edition

shows the composition of the Australian Edition, 20171130 based on its modules and their dependencies.

Note that the  | Emergency Department Extension|  has been omitted from this diagram due it's dependency on older modules from 2012. This diagram shows that the Australian Edition includes three additional modules on top of the International Edition's two modules.

lists the focus module and URI for the Australian Edition, 20171130.

United Kingdom Editions

shows the composition of the UK Clinical Edition, 20171001 and the UK Edition, 20171108 based on their modules and their dependencies.

Although the diagram contains many overlapping dependency arrows, note that the always point upwards. The UK Clinical Edition adds two modules to the two International modules, while the UK Edition provides four addional modules, or eight in total.

lists the most dependent focus modules and URIs for the UK Clincal Edition 20171001, and UK Edition 20171108.
