Many extensions will provide additional reference sets to extend the use of SNOMED CT. For example, when defining a subset of concepts for use in a specific clinical setting and representing and distributing this set as a reference set. But extensions include reference sets by default because module dependencies and language preferences need to be established. For these reasons, extension producers must consider the logical design of reference sets as well.
