• An ambiguous FSN, such as

  • Simple ambiguity, where the FSN can be interpreted in different ways
  • Classification extension included in the FSN, such as OS, NOS, NEC, and other
• Ambiguity between synonyms and FSN
• A misalignment between the FSN and the logical definition

Resolving Subtypes

• if all subtypes are sufficiently defined the only thing that needs going after inactivating the supertype is to reclassify
• primitive subtypes should be manually assigned to a supertype if they can't be remodelled and made sufficiently defined
