In Norway there is interest in aligning the Standardized International Nutrition Terminology and SNOMED International Edition. There are member countries that have incorporated INT into their national extensions, wouldn't it be a good idea to put that content into the International edition?

Thank you for this. The British Dietetic Association has been working with colleagues internationally to develop this and the Nutrition Care Process terminology in SNOMED CT so some may already be there. I'm not sure how far this project got though will find out more detail. The UK do have a nutritional diagnostic findings subset based on the international classification which you can view the members below in the browser:

Some of the content is in the UK extension at present. I'm sure the BDA would be happy to continue work in this area with international colleagues.

We've had strong interest from the Australian association too. As I understand the US extension has some content specific to this, which would be good to push through to international (I had talked to Jim about this a while back). There is some coordination between the different countries association to progress, and I've heard there may be some discussion in Bratislava (maybe not within a formal meeting). I'll keep you updated.

In Norway we are assessing the use of the Body structure hierarchy for various use cases (some very simple, some complex). I have heard that there is work on the Body Structure hierarchy, but I do not know the status of this work (nor the scope). This work will most likely influence our use of this hierarchy. Maybe someone could give a short description of the status of the work on the Body Structure hierarchy in the Bratislava meeting?

In Norway we lack a terminology for the area of Functioning. We have translated the ICF, but we are not sure whether it can be used og accepted by users. What are the plans for this area. What content already exists in the Functioning area?

The Observables and Investigation model group had been looking at this and there was a content project started in this area. I understand work is now on hold due to the WHO focus shift from ICF to ICD-11. There is also mention of there not being enough substantial use cases to identify a consistent representation of functions - perhaps we have these use cases between member countries. Worth talking about I would think. Link to the content project below.
The UK recently had 700 new concept requests in the area of functioning and there is clearly a need for content in this area. Our requests were sent to SNOMED International but were withdrawn for the present time given the information above. The content is available in the UK extension and we also have an Occupational Therapy functional observables reference set for use in assessment form configuration relating to functional status allowing the recording of the finding for the relevant assessment. These largely relate to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).
Its a significant piece of work that would have to be prioritised by SNOMED International but a discussion would be useful to establish where it would sit in the member countries priorities for content development.

The Danish Dietetic Association has contacted the Danish NRC about the same subject. Apparently, there has been some correspondence between Lesley MacNeil and the Director of Nutrition Care Process, at Research International and Scientific Affairs, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Constantina Papoutsakis.
I have informed the Danish Association about the process and possibility to be included in the Budget Sub Committee’s longlist of priorities for 2019 as the process for 2018 is overdue. Also, I have requested further information about their terminology, its content and use in Denmark. /Camilla
