I hope this is the right place!
Clarity around content authored in an extension and then promoted to be included in the International Release. What to do with description IDs, relationship IDs, and language IDs.

  1. I am facing a very particular situation with the extension I work with and can not find an answer anywhere.

We have content that we created (assigned conceptID, descriptionID, relationshipID, and languageID) and was promoted to the International release, but only the conceptID.

I know we leave the concept ID as is, but what do I do with the other IDs if they were not used? I would think that I inactive the FSN and Syn from our module, this should leave only the International content active and visible; the relationshipID we have is for a stated relationship, do I inactive this as well leaving the International assigned ID or OWL to remain active; same question for the languageID, can I inactivate to allow the International content be the only active content?

    Thank you for any help!

    1. Hi Debbie,

Just keep in mind that only the conceptId is promoted, so if you continue to need any description or relationship created in your Extension and that it is not duplicated with those of the International Edition, you must keep it active in your Extension.

  2. Hi Debbie Onos

Yes you're right.  Where international components (concepts, descriptions, relationships) use the same identifier for promoted content, there's no need for you to do anything because the newer effective time in the international edition will override those in your extension.   However in this case where only the concept id has been taken over and the other components were given new identifiers, then it would be correct to inactivate the equivalent (other-ids) components in your own extension so that they do not appear to be duplicates.
