    Dear all, I just have uploaded my extension proposal for the Translation Guidelines. There are 2 documents: one in which the suggestions are represented in review mode  (Guidelines for Translation of SNOMED CT_Review_C.Wermuth_final) and one in which the suggestions are incorporated into a final text proposal (Guidelines for Translation of SNOMED CT_Proposals for reformulation and amendments_C. Wermuth_final).  As you will see, I have quite a few comments and rephrasing propsals. I'm looking forward to your reaction!

    I have just discovered an error in paragraph 4.3.2.3 False Friends (second subparagraph). It should read as follows:

    " The English term typhus and the Danish term tyfus seem to reflect the same concept. However, this is not the case. The correct translation of the English term typhus is plettyfus in Danish, while the Danish term tyfus means typhoid fever in English. Another example is the English term assertive, which has the meaning <energetic> or <decisive>, while the Spanish term asertivo indicates that something has been confirmed."

    Yes, I think I have noted that in the document that I have uploaded too. There is also a number of concepts used in examples that are no longer i SNOMED CT. I have suggest to delete them. /Camilla

    Yes, indeed, Camilla, you mentioned this mistake! One more inconsistency:

    4.2.4.2 Syntactic issues

    a. Gerund


    • The gerund (i.e. the ing-form of verbs like affecting) is used in different languages (e.g. English, Romance languages), but not in languages like Dutch, Danish and German. In these languages, the gerund can be translated using relative phrases (examples 1 and 2) or a prepositional sentence (example 3):

      • (English) conditions affecting the mind (Spanish -->should be replaced by a German example!) enfermedades que afectan -->Erkrankungen, die die Psyche betreffen
      • (English) disease presenting primarily with --> (Danish) sygdom der primært manifesterer sig ved
      • (English) [...] affecting pregnancy --> (Danish) med indvirkning på graviditet ("with effect on pregnancy")
