The Release Notes ("doc_SnomedCTReleaseNotes_Current-en-US_INT_20220531.pdf") can be downloaded as distinct files from the same MLDS release version, or accessed online:

Dear all,

The first Production release of the SNOMED CT MedDRA Simple Map package is now available from the MLDS distribution site.  This release is dependent upon, and should therefore be consumed in conjunction with the January 2022 SNOMED CT International Edition.

SNOMED International and ICH/MedDRA MSSO, together with regulatory and industry partners, developed the SNOMED CT to MedDRA and MedDRA to SNOMED CT maps as part of the WEB-RADR 2 project, funded by the EU’s Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI). For full details, please see the Release Notes linked below.

All files distributed for this release are available from the “January 2022 PRODUCTION Release v1.0” version in the “SNOMED CT MedDRA Simple Map package” project, which can be found on the “SNOMED Releases” page in MLDS, accessed here (please ensure that you login to MLDS first):

The SNOMED CT MedDRA Simple Map release is distributed in a zipped archive file in the official RF2 format as follows:

  • SnomedCT_SNOMEDMedDRAMapPackage_PRODUCTION_20220511T120000Z.zip

In line with the SNOMED International packaging guidelines, the Release Notes have been separated from the release package, and so can be downloaded as distinct files from the same MLDS release version.  The Release Notes can also be accessed online:

NOTE:  An opportunity has been identified to improve the format of the SNOMED International Map Reference Set products.  This will apply to all types of simple and complex Map Reference Sets going forward, including (but not limited to) the SNOMED CT MedDRA Simple Map package, from this 2022 Release onwards.  Please see section "7.3. RF2 map files" in the Release Notes for full details of the improvements.

Those Members using MLDS as their distribution site will find that their affiliates have access to the new release automatically.

If you have any questions about the SNOMED CT MedDRA Simple Map package Production release, or have difficulties downloading the files, please contact SNOMED International at support@snomed.org with “2022 SNOMED CT MedDRA Simple Map package Production release question” in the subject line.

Kind regards,
