The Clinical Engagement Chat Room aims to provide a simple way to engage with other clinicians on issues and to ask/answer queries.

Getting Started

Access to the SNOMED International Slack workspaces are by invitation only. Experience on other platforms has shown that it is easier to manage who has access this way.

If you do not have an account or access to the SNOMED International public workspace, please contact crg@snomed.org to request an account. 

About Us

Clinical input into the development of SNOMED CT ensures that the terminology meets current and future clinical requirements. These activities form part of the broader approach of Clinical Engagement. Clinical engagement is currently supported by a dedicated team

The team looks to support clinical engagement activities across all regions through discussion and collaboration with local-based clinical colleagues, and discussions with national release centres (NRCs).

Clinical Engagement strategy

SNOMED International Clinical Engagement strategy sets out the organisations approach to engaging with clinicians and clinical groups. It provides a framework for engagement activities, and details how clinical input will be provided to ensure that SNOMED CT meets the requirement of clinicians, and remains clinically relevant in the changing face of healthcare.

Blog stream

High-level role groupers in the Substance hierarchy have been intended to support the organization of the hierarchy based on roles. An example of such a role grouper is 373265006 |Analgesic (substance)|. Substance role groupers have been an issue in SNOMED CT for many years. Role based groupers are associated with a particular purpose or outcome. A role does not belong to a substance per se but instead is associated with a manufactured product and its usage.…
The proposed changes are detailed in the attached briefing note, and relate to radiographic imaging Implementation of the content changes specified in this informational briefing note will commence in Q4 2023. The changes have been based on feedback recieved.
SNOMED International in collaboration with the The International League Against Epilepsy is working on improving the seizure and epilepsy content within the sub hierarchies of 313287004 |Seizure related finding (finding)| and 84757009 |Epilepsy (disorder)|.   1. Nursing CRG meeting 12 January 2021

    This is a reminder that there is a meeting of the Nursing CRG today at 2000 UTC.

    We are delighted that Erica Culp and Christine Spisla have volunteered to take on leadership up the group. They will introduce themselves and there will be a focused discussion on topics the Nursing CRG wants to address. Jane and Ian will provide an update on activities at SNOMED International and other clinical group activities, and there will be an update on ICNP alignment work.
