  •
1Welcome and IntroductionsPAMEach member of the group introduced themselves and included a short bio and expectations of the group.
2Conflicts of InterestPAMThere were no conflicts of interest.
2Ways of workingPAM

Review of current proposals - see Diabetes Project Group Home

The 'Ways of working section' of the home page was reviewed. The general discussion did not result in any changes in principle to this section. There was some concern about the ability of the group to achieve a 2 week turnaround and therefore a 4 week turnaround would be more realistic.

3Identification of diabetes sub-specialistsPAM

Where the management of diabetes complications fall within other medical specialties, how can we ensure that the content and it's modelling represents current internationally agreed terminology and understanding of pathophysiology etc.

A general discussion about the need and difficulty in sourcing diabetes specialists for each of the subdomains of diabetes e.g. diabetic eye disorders etc.

  • The group were asked to identify potential clinicians who may be able to provide specialist input into identifying the various types of diabetes mellitus along with any relevant professional associations/colleges that specialise in diabetes mellitus
4List of Diabetes Mellitus diagnosesPAM

Initial review of current SCT DM Diagnoses - See attached file

The initial list of diabetes mellitus diagnoses identified by listing the subtypes from 73211009 | Diabetes mellitus (disorder) |. The list needs to be arranged in a more logical fashion matched against a current classification of diabetes mellitus.

  • Action Paul Amos to provide the re-arranged list for discussion at the next meeting
5Meeting schedule and timesPAM

We need to agree a meeting schedule and times which are suitable for the majority of group members, and if necessary alternate meeting times so as not to favour any one time zone.

The meeting agreed to meet again at the same time and day in 2 weeks. This topic would be discussed again at that time

6AOBDROWe shared the spread sheet from David identifying gaps in current SNOMED CT coverage and it was agreed that we should create some Confluence pages in which members could make comments about current content and make suggestions for new content.

  • Paul Amos to create the additional confluence pages
