Go here - Confluence User Accounts - to apply for an account.

Most IHTSDO Confluence users do not need accounts. In contrast to IHTSDO's previous collaborative space ("Collabnet," or "TeamForge"), Confluence allows non-registered users to browse topics and delve into project spaces without logging in. You can participate in this IHTSDO Special Interest Group (SIG) without having a Confluence login.

So why would you need an account?  Registered members of the SIG will have the opportunity to participate in the process of nominating and recommending the appointment of future SIG Chairs. If you wish to actively participate in this project - commenting on pages, marking off when you have completed an action, uploading documents for discussion, etc. - then you need an account. If so, please fill out the form on this page.

Confluence account application forms will be reviewed by an administrator to determine whether an account is necessary for the stated purposes.

The IHTSDO Nursing Special Interest Group is a community of practice for the nursing profession, supporting worldwide nursing participation in the development, validation, uptake, implementation, and correct use of SNOMED CT and related products.

We welcome participation from anyone interested in ensuring that SNOMED CT supports nursing requirements for electronic documentation and communication of patient care in any setting.

Registered members of the SIG will have the opportunity to participate in the process of nominating and recommending the appointment of the SIG Vice Chair who becomes the Chair after serving 2 years as Vice Chair.  The next election will be held in July 2017.

Principle role of the Special Interest Group is to participate in projects influencing the development and improvement of nursing content in SNOMED CT.

On March 17 2010, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) and the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO) announced a collaborative agreement to advance terminology harmonization and foster interoperability in health information systems.  This agreement was updated in September 2014 and a specific project to ensure nursing content is sufficiently represented in SNOMED CT is progressing well.

The Nursing SIG is a member of the Alliance for Nursing Informatics, http://www.allianceni.org. Visit the web site to take advantage of resources provided by ANI, including a reduced subscription rate to the journal CIN and access to their mentoring program.  The current Nursing SIG representative to the ANI is Roberta Severin.

Note that registration and joining requests are manually checked, so there may be a delay of one or two working days in completing this process.

The Nursing SIG normally meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 1700-1800 UTC, please request to become a member to get notifications from the group and agenda details.
