A SNOMED CT Template contains one or more slots, which provide a placeholder in an expression, expression constraint or query, whose specific value can be completed at a subsequent time. The SNOMED CT Template Syntax therefore defines the syntax used for these slots, and how the slot syntax is to be incorporated into the other languages.
