Pseudoallergy

BGO

  • The term "pseudoallergy" is obsolete as discrete pathophysiologic mechanisms have been identified. Recommendation is to replace with non-allergic hypersensitivity which will align more closely with WAO/EAAAI nomenclature

  • Should the "pseudoallergy" concepts be renamed to nonallergic hypersensitivity or retired and replaced with new nonallergic hypersensitivity terms? (i.e. is there a change in meaning?)

  • Should pseudoallergy be retained as a synonym?
  • Is intolerance a kind of nonallergic hypersensitivity?
  • Proposed model for nonallergic hypersensitivity
