Award for Excellence
SNOMED International's Award of Excellence is awarded to a single recipient each year. It is given for outstanding contributions to the improvement of SNOMED CT and/or its successful implementation in any aspect of health and social care. Prior winners have been:

- 2012: Dion McMurtrie, Australia
- 2013: Kristina Brand Persson, Sweden
- 2014: Judith Warren, USA
- 2015: Jim Case, USA

- 2017: Bruce Goldberg, USA
- 2018: Michael Lawley, Australia
- 2019: Mark Jurkovich, USA
- 2022: Ajelandro Mauro, Chile and Vicky Fung, Hong Kong, China
- 2023: Pim Volkert, Netherlands and Scott W. Campbell, USA
- 2024: Hyeoun-Ae Park, the Republic of Korea
Individuals must be nominated by two people, at least one of whom must be a member of the Community of Practice (defined here as someone who is not a SNOMED International employee).
The deadline for nominations is 30 June31 March.
