The current editorial guidance for the Event hierarchy states that the OCCURRENCE attribute should not be pre-coordinated with the Event.  It has been pointed out to us that we currently have 32 concepts in the Event hierarchy that do have the OCCURRENCE relationship.  Examples of these concepts include:

787209003 |Domestic physical abuse of adult (event)|

445868008 |Fetal death due to anoxia (event)|

736061003 |Exposure to diethylstilbestrol in utero (event)|

The majority of the event concepts in this category involve either death or abuse.  However, we also have death and abuse concepts in the clinical findings hierarchy;
<<386702006 |Victim of abuse (finding)|

702710003 |Dead - death without witness (finding)|

Historically, event concepts, even though they have the same underlying model as Clinical findings, have been discouraged from having the concept model applied to attempt to sufficiently define these concepts, thus the hierarchy is almost entirely primitive.

Should the editorial guidance be modified to allow for the use of the OCCURRENCE relationship, or should any event that requires this relationship be modeled as a clinical finding?
