1 | Discussion about disorders of traditional medicine in ICD-11 | Yongsheng Gao | Disorders have been arranged in a sibling hierarchy of patterns under the module 1 for traditional medicine in ICD-11. However, most of them are clinical findings regardless those symptoms were examined by a practitioner from biomedicine or traditional medicine background. Disorders of three body systems, liver, heart, and lung have been reviewed along with the definitions in ICD-11. The agreement is to represent them as clinical findings or disorders in SNOMED CT. For example, Liver abscess disorder in Traditional medicine module in ICD-11 is the same 27916005 |Abscess of liver (disorder)| in SNOMED CT. There is no need to create a different concept for traditional medicine. Furthermore, if it is a grouper concepts, the details in the definition should be represented in SNOMED CT rather than the grouper. |
