Dear Members,

The BETA release of the April 2018 SNOMED CT® Spanish Edition is now available to SNOMED International Members only, from the MLDS distribution site.  This release contains the Spanish language version of the January 2018 SNOMED CT® International Edition.

The BETA release is distributed for evaluation purposes only.  It is not for use in production clinical systems or in clinical settings.

This BETA release provides SNOMED International Member organisations an opportunity to perform a technical evaluation of the SNOMED CT® files, and to provide feedback to SNOMED International, before the Production Spanish Edition is published by 30th April 2018.  Please note that this Release should not be distributed to Affiliate Licensees or any third parties before this date.

USE WITHIN CLINICAL SYSTEMS CANNOT BE SUPPORTED AT THIS TIME.

When providing feedback, please include as much detail as possible, incorporating references to, or samples of, specific instances of the issue being reported.  The absence of sufficient information to allow SNOMED International to confirm the reported issue may result in no action being taken prior to the Production release.  Feedback on content related issues will be assessed and prioritised by SNOMED International, and a decision will be made as to whether to address any reported content issues for this release or as part of a future Spanish Edition release.  Although all feedback will be carefully reviewed, there should be no expectation that any non-technical issues will be addressed prior to the distribution of the Production release.

Feedback on the BETA release files will be accepted until 23:59 UTC on 25th April 2018 – although Members are urged to submit their findings as early as possible.

All files distributed to SNOMED International Members for the April 2018 Spanish Edition BETA release are available from the "April 2018 v0.1” version in the “Offline & Alpha Versions” section of the “SNOMED CT Spanish package - Edición en Español” project, which can be found on the “SNOMED International Releases” page in MLDS, accessed here:

Dear all

In future releases of the ICNP to SNOMED CT packages, we will be refining the file naming convention, in order to better distinguish between the two releases: Diagnoses and Interventions.

Therefore, instead of the Concept file, for example, being called "sct2_Concept_ICNPSnapshot_INT_20180131.txt" in both packages, it will now be called the following in each relevant release:

  • sct2_Concept_ICNPDiagnosesSnapshot_INT_[date].txt
  • sct2_Concept_ICNPInterventionsSnapshot_INT_[date].txt

This change will be implemented for all ICNP releases going forward - please let us know if you have any questions or concerns over this change.

Kind regards,

Andrew Atkinson  |  Release Manager
