Welcome to the second week of the 2021 October Business Meetings. Building on an exceptionally productive schedule of events last week, with 17 advisory, project, user, and clinical reference group meetings having taken place, this week focuses on remaining governance meetings, including General Assembly, Management Board and Member Forum Meetings as well as an active clinical meeting schedule.

London, United Kingdom and Ann Arbor, MI, USA – HL7 International and SNOMED International today announced that they have signed a five-year renewal of their long-standing and productive collaborative relationship.
 
Sharing a common goal of developing and provisioning standards for the exchange of interoperable clinical and related health information, HL7 International and SNOMED International have agreed to target their collaboration to further support the implementation of SNOMED CT in HL7 artefacts, consistent with our mutual commitment to advance global health data interoperability...

OCTOBER 21, 2021 – SNOMED International and the International Council of Nurses (ICN) announce the production release of a new reference set, the International Classification of Nursing Practice (ICNP) SNOMED CT Nursing Practice Refset.

In August 2020, SNOMED International and the International Council of Nurses (ICN) joined forces in a groundbreaking agreement for the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP) to be managed, produced, released and distributed by SNOMED International. ICN retains ownership of ICNP and the definition of its content so that it meets the needs of the global nursing profession. The October 2021 production release of the ICNP SNOMED CT Nursing Practice Refset is the inaugural release following the 2020 agreement...

SNOMED International and the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Health and Prevention are pleased to announce that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has become SNOMED International’s 41st Member.

The UAE is the fourth Middle East country, following Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, to join SNOMED International, further extending the SNOMED CT use, implementation experience and collaboration opportunities for the region. Effective as of May 2021, UAE users can register to request a free license for use of SNOMED CT by visiting the country’s National Release Center website. In addition to the many benefits the country can realize through implementing SNOMED CT, its use will also support the UAE in achieving its 2017-2021 strategic healthcare objectives and beyond.
