SNOMED International October 2021 Business Meetings

SNOMED International is pleased to announce that the schedule for the forthcoming virtual October 2021 Business Meetings is now available.

Please find the confirmed sessions listed on the October What's on this Week calendar between 18-27 October, 2021. A printable PDF version is also available to download here as a visual guide (but please note this does not include Zoom links).

Registration for the Business Meetings is not required. Those participating in governance and advisory sessions will be sent meeting details individually.  

Please note that many of the business meetings will be ‘open to observers’ and attendance is actively encouraged. Refer to the October What's on this Week calendar to access Zoom details for these sessions, including registration for the Open General Assembly and the Clinicians webinar. Clinical Reference, Advisory and Project Groups’ Zoom information can also be accessed there.

The SNOMED CT Community updates document detailing the progress of the different facets of the organization will be posted for your information during the Business Meeting weeks. 



Clinical Webinar: SNOMED CT Support for Cancer Care

On October 27, 2021 (12:30-15:30 UTC), we will be hosting a pre-conference clinical webinar on SNOMED CT support for cancer care.

  • Monica Jones, Chief Data Officer, HDRUK Data Research Hub for Cancer – DATA-CAN;
  • W. Scott Campbell, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology and Microbiology, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC);
  • Ekkehard Hewer, Associate Professor of Pathology, Lausanne University Hospital and University of Lausanne, Switzerland; and
  • Laura Pareja, Statistician.



SNOMED CT Expo 2021 - Virtual Conference

We are pleased to announce that the program is set and registration for the October virtual Expo is open. The Expo is set to take place on 28-29 October 2021 and registration is complimentary.

This year's Expo keynotes feature addresses by Dr. David Hansen, CEO and Research Director of the Australian e-Health Research Centre at CSIRO, who will be speaking on Artificial Intelligence technology enabling the future of healthcare.

The 2021 James Read Memorial Lecturer is Dani Prieto-Alhambra, Professor of Pharmaco and Device Epidemiology at the University of Oxford, who will explore open data networks and the importance of data sharing and standards in managing the COVID-19 crisis.
